What is PID gas detector ?
PID gas detetcor uses PID sensor to detect VOCs(Volatile organic compound) in the area. It is also known as Photo Ionized Detection and Photoionization. PID sensors are designed to detect VOCs detection ranges of parts-per-million (ppm) or parts-per-billion (ppb) levels, and this is very important when dealing with VOCs. Because they are highly toxic in very small quantities.
Regarding the principle of the PID sensor, they use ultraviolet light to detectable gas to ionize it and this progress causes an ion current to be generated. Then the sensor measures this current to determine the gas concentration in the environment.
The most common VOCs are
Benzene, Acetone, Formaldehyde, Carbon Disulfide, Ethanol, Toluene, Styrene, Xylene, etc.
VOC Gas Detection
PQD Series PQD-8136 VOC gas detector uses the PID sensor to detect VOCs in classified areas which are Zone1 and Zone2. The bright and large display on the detector provides effective usage and easy maintenance in the applications together with reliable detection.
